First week at home

Your baby is beautiful! Although he/she was may look a little scrunched up, this, because he spent 9 months inside your womb.. The baby's arms and legs are not fully extended yet. You could think he or she is bowlegged. Do not worry: by the time he or she 'll be 6 months old, your baby will stretch out! A light blanket wrapped around your baby might make him/her feel comfortable, like in your womb.
Make a test: ifi your baby is crying: swaddle him in a bedsheet, like our grandmothers used to keep their babies! Not too tight! You'll see how the baby will suddenly forget about crying and take a relaxed nap.

Your own life: You're a parent!
Reality can be a shock: you have a baby! And your life will never be the same. You have to realise that the new life you gave birth to is totally dependent on you. Don't be too hard on yourself! Don't try tobe the perfect mother. Don't try to find everything in books. Rely on your good instinct. Don't panick! You know the best when it comes to take care of your child. Trust in yourself, even if others have other opinions. It might confort you to know that a healthy baby is very strong. He/she knows how to let you know that you have to feed him/her. Breastfeeding and love is all yopur baby needs right now. Don't worry, in one month you will know exactly what every cry means. You'll have the perfect relationship. It is indeed a miracle - researchers still work on decoding the babies cries, but you'll understand it out of instinct.
